Student Groups

We welcome educational visits to our lights from all types and sizes of student groups. Our goal is to create meaningful and enjoyable learning experiences for all of our visitors.

If you’re interested in arranging a visit for your school, classroom, or another large group, please fill out the form below. At Little Sable Point Lighthouse, per Silver Lake State Park policy, groups traveling by bus are only permitted between Labor Day and Memorial Day.

Scheduling your visit in advance will ensure the location you choose is appropriately staffed. Due to the popularity of our lights, those who don’t make prior arrangements risk missing out on our group rates.

Additionally, we offer educational resources for children and classrooms.

Tower Safety Policies
Please take note of the lighthouse tower safety policies before requesting a group reservation.

Individuals must be at least 40″ tall to climb the lighthouse towers.
Children may not be carried up the stairs.
Anyone climbing the tower is required to wear shoes with heel straps.
Flip flops aren’t allowed; however, you may climb the stairs barefoot.

Groups of 10 or more may submit a reservation request. The Operations Manager will contact you after reviewing the availability of your requested tour details and will inform you of any costs associated with the group visit.

Tour Groups

Bus tour and other travel groups are welcome to visit our lights. Please contact us to discuss your group’s visit, so we can ensure you receive the best possible service.

After-Hours Lighthouse Reservations

We offer exclusive after-hours access to our lights for special events, such as a marriage proposal. The cost is $200 for a 1-hour reservation and $300 for a 2-hour reservation.

For after-hours access to a lighthouse, please submit the following form. Our Operations Manager will review your request and contact you for further instructions or approval. Payment will be required if the request is approved.

Reservations for weddings at Little Sable Point must be scheduled with Silver Lake State Park and may require a permit.

Agreement and Signature

All after-hours reservations are limited to two hours between 5:00 p.m. and sunset. Event reservations are approved at the discretion of Lakeshore Keepers. During the time of your reservation, a volunteer or staff member will be available to provide access to the lighthouse to you and your group. Please note that the space at the top of each lighthouse is limited. For the safety of our guests, volunteers, and staff, we may limit the number of guests climbing the tower at one time. Alcohol is not permitted inside any Lakeshore Keepers' tower. Payment must be completed at least seven days prior to the event date. Payment will be required upon approval of the request. If approved, you'll receive an email.
