Day keepers are needed to fill shifts at the lights, help with events, and more. They typically live locally and volunteer for half to one day at a time. All volunteers must complete a background check.

All Day Keeper schedules will be published on our website on SignUpGenius for all event sign-ups. Volunteers can browse all available openings and choose those the best fit for their schedule.
Day Keepers will be needed at the following locations:
Day Keepers will be needed to cover Resident Keepers’ days off and assist during special events such as Night at the Light Concerts at Little Sable Point and Bus Days at Big Sable Point.
New and returning volunteers must have an active annual membership through October 2027 for their application to be considered. At a minimum, they must have an Associate membership. (Note: All memberships are non-refundable.)
